     Evaluation of Articles and Privacy

Journal of Mediterranean Tourism Research adopts double blind review method for all article evaluations. Double blind review is a method in which both author and referee identities are concealed.

Referees are assigned to articles in accordance to the contents of articles and referees’ field of specialization. Referees are obliged not to share any documents and any information on processes related to the articles they evaluated.

Referees’ evaluations generally consist of evaluating articles in terms of originality, methodology, accordance to ethical principles, presentation of findings and results in a consistent way, and literature.

Referees have a month to evaluate an article assigned to them. In case of revision correction suggestions from referees or editors, authors have to revise their articles according to the “correction report” in a month at the latest. Referees may decide an article is appropriate after evaluating its corrected form as well as they may request corrections more than once if they find it necessary.

Authors have to inform editors when they detect a mistake on the articles that have been sent to the journal. Once an article is received, at first it undergoes a pre-evaluation by the editorship in terms of format and contents, and then it is sent referees if it is considered appropriate by the editorship. Pursuant to regulations decided by the cooperation of TÜBİTAK, ULAKBİLİM, and YÖK, it is a necessity to add the ORCID info of the head author to the articles that will be sent to our journal to prevent the issues caused by the similarities of names and institutions. If you don’t have an ORCID ID, you can acquire it via https://orcid.org/.
